Room Data Sheets SmartTool

Room data sheets (or RDS) are used to capture in a systematic manner the details and requirements for each space on https://searchstreams.info/what-is-an-alternate-data-stream a project. These are typically prepared by the client during the briefing (also known as architectural programming in the US) phase of the design process, however, they may also be revised during the design process to reflect changes in requirements or to present an accurate and complete image to those responsible for the project’s execution.

The Room Data Sheets SmartTool is an accurate and efficient sheet that lets you view and schedule your building tool for building room (or space) sheets of data within a Revit project. The tool can create 3D, plans, elevations and views of schedules for rooms or spaces that are named parametrically and numbering new sheets.

The tool will default to the Room Numbering Template and Sheet Format that are created by the Revit Project. However you can choose a different sheet style and name by clicking the Tool Options tab. Click the button ‘Load configuration …” on the toolbar to replace current settings with previously saved configurations. This helps reduce the amount of needed for manual rework for different room types and sizes.

The tab ‘Naming’ allows the user to select whether the selected room/space is included in the Sheet Name text box which appears on the left of the screen. View Name: is the text that appears in the title bar of every view, and ‘View Increment:’ specifies the number of increments between each view when it is placed on the sheet. The ‘Spacing’ option lets you to control the spacing between each view. The ‘Exclude Titles from Estimating View Sizes for Sheets’ option will prevent titles being included in the calculation of the number of views on sheets.
